What Happens During Root Canal Treatment?
First, we carefully clean and shape the root canal so that the disinfecting solution can reach the full length of the root. The treatment is performed under local anaesthesia, so it is painless and comfortable for the patient.
Once the root canal system has been thoroughly disinfected, we fill the canal with a special root filling material. At the end of the procedure, we take a final X-ray to check that the filling reaches the correct depth.
Treatment of a tooth with one canal usually takes around 90 minutes, while teeth with multiple canals may take several hours. Throughout the procedure, you are in experienced and careful hands.
